The cooling system consists of an aluminum heat exchanger, a fan shroud, and a cooling fan. A custom-made aluminum radiator of specific dimensions has been used. This is a single-pass, down-flow-type radiator with thin tubes through which the hot coolant passes. A high-performance cooling fan of 8 inches in diameter with straight profile blade geometry will be attached to the shroud.

The design seals the space between the radiator and the fan, forcing all air to pass through the radiator core. It does not allow cross-mixing of heated air in the engine compartment with the incoming cool air, hence increasing radiator efficiency. A uniform heat rejection from the surface is developed since the shroud balances the pressure.gradient across the face of the radiator. A light-weight and compact design can be easily incorporated.

Factors Influencing Shroud Design:-

1> Standoff distance of fan from the radiator core.

2> Inner wall curvature

3> Manufacturability

We choose carbon fibre over the aluminium due to the following factors:-

1> Carbon fiber composite has a density that is 2 times less than that of aluminum and more than 5 times less than that of steel. Consequently, in a component of the same dimensions, replacing aluminum with carbon fiber will reduce its weight by 50%. Replacing steel with carbon fiber will reduce the weight five times.

2> Carbon fiber is a material that offers stiffness and strength at a low density.

3> Carbon fiber has corrosion resistance, which offers another advantage compared to aluminum.

Simulations are conducted in Ansys software; computational fluid dynamics is performed with an inlet velocity of 18.38 m/s and the k-epsilon standard model; pressure distribution and streamline flow are observed.
